Cincinnati Zoo

Like I said in my last post we had the opportunity to visit the Cincinnati Zoo while we were in the area. We had gone to dinner on Saturday night and the guy who was our waiter encouraged us if we had time to check it out. Apparently it is one of the top three Zoo's in the world.

There were alot of really neat animals at the Zoo, and we were able to watch an Elephant show right when we got to the Zoo.  They were rather large smart creatures!

I only uploaded a few pictures and they happen to all be of the adorable polar bears they had.

They were by far my favorite "Exhibit" :)

Cuuuute, right? :)
They were so much fun to watch!

So, once again, this is another thing I highly recommend! :) Go see all the cute animals (and not so cute, but reallly interesting ones!)

Creation Museum Adventures

Yep! We went to the Creation Museum-all the way in Petersburg, KY :)

A couple of weekends ago we decided to make the seven hour trip with our good friends Christopher and Bethany to the Creation Museum for the weekend. After many delays, and car trouble, we finally were on the road a little before noon on Thursday.

Our plan was to stay at a place about 20-30 minutes from the museam called the Potters Ranch. They had cabins, places for you to set up tents and Tipis that you could stay in. All for a very reasonable price. We were going to rent two tipis and so we came prepared with our air matteresses, sheets and blankets, our little gas stove and food. We weren't planning on encountering a storm.

But a storm we encountered.

A big one.

When we arrived, the sweet owners of the  Ranch offered us the basement of a cabin to stay in, since the tipi's aren't exactly waterproof at the top.
We took the basement. The whole night it poured-so trips to the bathroom down the walk way from the cabin wound up making us drenched.
Good memories :)

When we woke up the next morning, it was still raining. So, we packed up and headed to the Museum.
We spent from the time they opened to the time they closed inside the musuem. It was so fascinating! And there was just so much to see and do!

All of the exhibits, in the main part of the musuem were so real and life like. The main exhibit area walked through the very beginning of things-the fall to the crucifixion. There was so much crammed in there (It didn't SEEM crammed though! :) ) and we had a blast.

It was alot of walking around for us two pregnant ladies, but the exercise was welcome. There were also different video shows and a planetarium that we got to sit down and enjoy through out the day, and the next.

The Noah's Ark exhibit

I think our favorite exhibit was the Noah's Ark one...there was so much fascinating information or possibilities in every single exhibit! :)

Our yummy breakfast on the second morning we were there :)

Beofre we had left for the Museum that morning, we talked to the owners about possibly leaving (since it was supposed to rain ALL day Friday and we were not prepared, unfortunately, for wet camping) the Ranch and finding a hotel. They graciously offered, for no extra charge, to put us in the upstairs of the cabin we had stayed in the night before!
No air matteresses needed OR walking a ways to a bathroom! We had our own bedrooms with wonderful beds and a bathroom super close by :) God was so kind to us!

Saturday morning we made our breakfast on the porch of our cabin. It was yummy.

We headed out to day two of the Museum shortly after breakfast.

On Saturday we finished up seeing everything we didn't get a chance to the day before and also spent time outside in their beautiful botanical gardens and the petting zoo!

We got to sit in on a snake presentation in the afternoon and the grand finale was this 14 foot, 60 lb albino python we all got to hold. This thing was HEAVY!! and Huge :)

At the zoo they had a Zonk (Zebra bred with a donkey) and some other kind of interestingly bred horse animal. I can't for the life of me remember what it was called or what it was. :P

(The gardens :) )

The whole experience was SO exiting and so much fun! I highly reccomend making a trip there one day soon. It's definitely worth the drive, and the tickets for now are two days for the price of one. DEAL! :)

Four Books

Today I am going to be posting 4 books/series that I can read over and over. And have done so many times already.  They might be total fluff, but they are my go-to books if I want a car ride to go fast or just need a good book to pass some time :)
1- The Mark of the Lion Series by Francine Rivers

2- The Princess by Lori Wick

3- The Circle Trilogy (now its not a trilogy since they added a 4th book, that I haven't read yet) by Ted Dekker

4- The Inheritance by Louisa May Alcott

So, there you have it! :) Definitely not a complete list, but hey, I was only allowed to choose four.

Up next: what's been going on with us :)
