Cook Out

This past Sunday we went to my sisters house and had a cook out with her family and my dad and the kids!
It was the perfect evening for grilling burgers and hot dogs while playing in the grass!

Gideon helped grill burgers!
My dad wearing his Pop's shirt :) It has the names of all 5 grand kids with a little figure of each of them :)

We got some cute photos of Chloe and Isaiah together. They are exactly 3 months apart and are just so cute together!

Tirzah loves Isaiah...and loves giving him "hugs". :)
"What IS all this green stuff??"

 definitely exploring :)

 mmmmm.

Chloe was NOT going to let him eat grass. Because that's not what you do with grass. You just sit and play in grass. Not eat it.

He didn't care...the grass was going in his mouth and that was that.

Perfect end to the day :)

Summmmer time!

Its finally starting to feel like summer....even though it's not technically summer yet. I don't mind. :)
I love looking at the weather forecast for the upcoming week and seeing a consistent 88* every day with nothing but sun and maybe a few clouds scattered here and there.
It's good for my cloth diapering too :)

This past weekend we had a laid back time with family. Saturday I did take some family photos for a local couple and  then after that, we had really no plans!

Kelsey was able to snatch a few family photos of my little family on Satuday, which was so sweet of her.

Also, on Saturday, Old Navy was having a 50% off all family swimwear day. I was able to score Isaiah's very first complete bathing suit for pretty cheap. The shirt and shorts match and are just so cute! I can't wait to see what he does in a pool!

Brandon and I were able to go on a date Saturday night to go see our friends Paul and Greg play jazz music at Annie Moore's Irish Pub. Brandon's brother Jeff and his wife, Erika joined us and we had such a great time!

All in all it was such a great day!

hiking again!

I went on a hike for the first time with Isaiah with OUT Brandon! It was an adventure for sure!

Stephanie and Joshua and the kids were going on a hike on a Tuesday, so Brandon had work and therefore couldn't come but I went ahead and said that  Isaiah and I would come because it sounded so nice!

We were hiking Buffalo Mountain, which is about 2 hours from our house and an hour or so from Steph's house. So I dropped Brandon off at a coffee shop and went to Steph's and rode with them.
Buffalo Mountain is where Joshua proposed to Stephanie 4 years ago! Joshua's younger brother and I were along for the ride :)
So the hike and the mountain brought back alot of memories!
I wore Isaiah in my Moby Wrap the whole time, which is quite the chore since he is just about 21 pounds. He did pretty good on the way up...the way down was a different story. He was so tired! He finally fell asleep about half way down the mountain. yay!

It was such a beautiful day for a hike though! We packed a lunch and ate at the top...It was basically a 360* view!

Isaiah enjoyed riding next to cousin Chloe on the way there and back. :) so cute!

Thanks for inviting us, Steph!

Away from Home

We have had a wonderful time at my In-Laws these last two weeks. Isaiah certainly will be spoiled when we go back home the middle of next week. So many hands to hold him and to give him toys...he is so spoiled here!
We've enjoyed many nights of yummy food and even s'mores one night with friends!

While at their house we have been sleeping in a king sized bed...amazing! Compared to our full sized bed at home it is quite luxurious. Especially when the little man wakes up several times a night here and winds up with us in bed most of the night. We have plenty of room for Isaiah to spread out and take up most of the bed, just like he loves to do. It's been quite nice. :)
Isaiah LOVES his Auntie Hannah. He has started reaching for her when she is around. It's so sweet.
We are so thankful for the place to stay and the company and help we have had for the past two weeks!

Cloth Diapering

The owners of our house have been back in town for the last two weeks and so we have been put up at Brandon's parents house for that time. Tonight we are leaving for my parents house though and will be there for almost another week. Being away from home for so long brings about a little bit of a challenge though!

Isaiah is terribly allergic to any type of disposable diaper. Even the all organic Seventh Generation diapers. Therefore, we needed to pack up all of our cloth diapers and bring them with us for the almost 3 weeks we were going to be gone.

I packed 24 prefolds, 8-9 covers, the diaper detergent and my massive wet bag. So far I have only had to do laundry three times. Laundry here is great though, because I can hang the diapers out on the clothes line to get "sunned"-aka bleached. Watching the stains disappear is so exciting to me. :)
Over all it really hasn't been difficult, its just like being at home, only better because there is a clothes line here! I can't wait to get a clothes line one day when we move!

First Sink Bath!

Yes. It took me almost 6 months to give my son a bath in the sink!

I grew up always watching my mom give the new babies baths in sinks. And for some reason it just never occurred to me to do that. But I gave him on last week for the first time and he loved it!

He splashed and splashed and just had an overall wonderful time :)

We went on a fun little pic-nic  a couple weeks back with our friends Cody and Kelsey (Christopher's brother and his wife).  Their little baby was only 4 weeks old in this picture. So, naturally, Isaiah looks like a GIANT. :)
We have really been enjoying parks lately. Isaiah just loves the swings. And it's nice to get out side and enjoy the beautiful weather. I hope we can do more picnics and hikes this spring/summer. :)

Hiking for the first time as a family of three :)

The other week Brandon, Isaiah and I went on a hike with our friends Christopher and Bethany and their baby, Azariah. We did a trail/mountain that was only a few minutes from our house called Dragons Tooth.
When we got to the top you could see the valley where our house is located (the green part in the far left top corner.). It's always fun trying to see our house or where we live. We were able to see our house from another mountain that you can see out our windows called McAfee's Knob...There is another mountain and trail called Tinker Cliffs that you can also see from our window that we want to try out some time. It's a pretty good hike we hear.

Brandon and Christopher were so wonderful and wore both babies on them on the way up and down the mountain. The hike wasn't the easiest so I was thankful :) Even though the back pack I was carrying weighed as much as Isaiah. :)

At the top of the mountain, you have the option to climb up to the "tooth"...The guys left the babies with Bethany and I and hiked up to the top. We were perfectly content not climbing any more :)
The view is quite gorgeous where ever you are up there. We had such a wonderful hike and enjoyed the time fellowshipping with B&C. It'll be so great when the boys are old enough to really interact and play with each other! I have a feeling that they will be great friends :)
